I would just like a quick check with our customers if some are still having issues with the Start menu docklet that comes built into Object Dock Plus. There seems to be some kind of inconsistency with this issue and was just curious if you could help me narrow down this bug.

iVAN...your claim of a contradiction was/is an error of comprehension on your part.

Stardock may wish wide access to Impulse for feedback, BUT AT THE SAME TIME may NOT want the OD release to go to 'established/happy/stable' users of SDC so released it to Impulse adopters/trialists only.

WHATEVER the reason, It is NOT my call, nor is it yours.

jpkylegirl gave a valid/legitimate reason...update/revision number confusion occuring with users of both Impulse and SDC.  Sounds about right.

I doubt whether any amount of foot-stamping and claims of ignored queries will result in a revision of dispensing procedure.

As for ...

First of all, it's only coexisting with SDC because Impulse is currently in beta stage. And let's not go down the road of "since everything is ok for me then things must be ok for everyone else", shall we? You know as well as I do that you can't generalize like that.

There is nothing to say that SDC will be actively uninstalled by formal adoption of Impulse, though it is perhaps a sensible method of handling such a change, but then again about that 'road'...unless you actually INSTALL IMPULSE YOURSELF you CANNOT argue otherwise.  It may just work and like, wow,...you have your update and an end to the dramatics.

Stranger things have happened....;)

Again... you did NOT buy a license. You bought a product.Seriously, make your mind up. Because in reply #69 of this thread KarmaGirl said thisNo, you buy a LICENSE to the software

Sorry - KarmaGirl is right.  I remembered wrong what she said.  Time for me to get my morning caffiene drip so my brain will function properly.  Again, my apologies.

Why would they not want that? Is it a reward for trying Impulse? Or are SDC users not worthy?

Technically, I can and I will. Suggesting that I'd install it is like asking me to jump into a pond to swim while knowing that some people have been bitten by a crocodile in there and are back on dry land for good. I may not see the crocodile, but until someone gets the shotgun out and nails him my little toe isn't getting near the dampness. So to speak...

Considering that SDC is not completely cut off then why not add something new to it?

iVan what part of

Impulse and SDC are 2 different systems. The way items gets published, 2 different things. That when you publish something on SDC and then publish it on Impulse you mess with version numbers, which then confuses the user.

do you not comprehend?

And since no one mentioned this fact....Stardock Central is a free product, and SD can do whatever they please with it. Impulse is also a free product, and the same holds true. Whether you purchased OD+ or not has absolutely no bearing on how SD chooses to release updates for it.

You have been told that the Alpha is NOT going to be released on SDC. Why is that so hard to grasp?

Get Impulse, install the alpha (unsupported) patch.  Done.

The matter is closed.

please?.....pretty please?.....with sugar on it?

As I business owner, I'd like to commend every Stardock representative who has replied to this. Outstanding show of patience.

And why doesn't OD+ (alpha) skin the command prompt?!?!?!?   :SURPRISED:

*gets on a plane to Texas with a bowling pin in hand* NO! I won't check it!

Which part of "I will sift through the confusion" don't you understand? From where I stand, if you start releasing updates only through Impulse then cut SDC off completely. It's no good offering partials here and there. Sitting on the fence like that is absolute rubbish.

I don't care if SDC or Impulse are free products. OD+ isn't a free product and that's what matters to me. It's not working 100% and that's what matters to me. Stardock doesn't seem to give a damn about releasing updates as frequently as they do for at least one other same-priced product and that matters to me too.

Thread locked.  It's gone way off topic.

iVAN: Your questions have all be adequately answered as they related to this thread.  The rest of your issues with impulse, alpha patches, and ongoing development of OD+ have also been answered despite them being vastly off-topic.
