How to Skin Command Prompt in WB6

Well gang, I'm sure there's at least a few of you out there disappointed by StarDock's WB6 inability to skin the command prompt even now in 2007. So, with that said, there's a way to get it skinned... sort of. Here's the process.

Go into WB6 and go under Settings/Advanced User Settings. Put a check in I want to use Aero window frames but keep the rest of the skin. This will allow WB6 to skin the command prompt... that's the good news, but the bad news is that the frames will obviously be the default Aero ones in Vista. I guess it's better then nothing, but it sure would be nice to have WB6 skins be able to skin the prompt once again like it used to in WB4.x.

Hope this helps those of you who agree with me on this front. Laterz.

Woot?

I agree, I like a skinned command prompt.  However, the only time I ever really need the terminal/cmd for any length of time is on Linux.  And its skinned fine there.

BTW, this looks the best with the Diamond Skin since the frame in that skin is basically Aero anyway.

How to skin the command prompt....run eConsole ....it will simply be skinned by the WB of your choice.... AND it IS a command prompt.

This example has the window set to transparent....but it doesn't have to be....just an extra perk....

But...but....you know he thinks it's wrong to use another app and WB should be able to do it.

Can't say I or 95% to 99% of the people here use a Command prompt much tho...

Jafo cree! Like the guy above stated, why should I have to load up another program to do something that can be done natively? Also, the eConsole transparency thing is not "true" transparency. If it was true transaprency you'd be able to see the browser window behind the console prompt, not just the second background layer which is the wallpaper. So you see, even that's flawed.

Or... it COULD be by design!  Maybe making it truly transparent wouldnt let WB skin it...
