SOUNDMAN.EXE - Description and Recommendation
This process is a sound manager for the Realtek AC'97 (HD) Audio Codec, and associated hardware. It is a convienient GUI-based configuration tool for the many settings related to the codec and hardware. While providing an intuitive and user-friendly method of configuration, this utility is redundant because the settings can be changed within the Windows sound control panel, and this process provides no additional functionality nor is it necessary for proper audio hardware function. It does however, provide some "pretty" demonstrations of hardware/software capability as well as a very useful speaker configuration test (useful for surround-sound setups).
SOUNDMAN.EXE - Uninstall Techniques
This application can not be removed without also removing the necessary AC'97 HD Audio Codec.
