I just installed SP1 for vista, and my widgets will not run. Enclosed is the problem report from Vista

Where did you get SP1 for Vista, as far as I have seen it is either in a closed beta or not even in beta as of yet.

Glenn's correct. SP1 has been made available to a group of Microsoft's beta testers and it can be obtained via various means around the net but the fully 'tried and tested' version will not be available for a few more months from Microsoft. Viewing this I would expect to see issues with DesktopX and maybe other Stardock products so it may be better to uninstall SP1 and wait for the released version.

Incidentally, I understand the initial feedback on SP1 beta is very good. Several testers have noticed performance increases in several areas
