Modding Mega Events?

I've read through the posted tutorials, and done a couple searches on the subject. While I can find plenty of information on how to mod ethical choice events, I have seen nothing that describes how to make events like "the dread lords have returned" or the economic boom, or suddenly pirates appear, or the random new minor race events. Is it possible to mod such things, and if so can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial?

I'm sorry, these things cannot be modded, they are hardcoded. You can change the text that appears on the screen and the movies/images though .

must say thats abit of a downer it would defo add more depth! would be interesting if you could connect your game to a server to download a few random events a day to spice things up! *nudges the devs*
