Rightclick not working in Vista

Help!!

I recently upgraded (if you can call it that) to Vista. I cannot seem to get RC working at all. I've tried the beta as well but I'm having the same results. When I load the RC program, it loads just fine - but when I right-click on the desktop, I get no menu at all. Not the windows menu, or the RC menu. I have transparency turned off - no change. It simply does not work. This is a total show-stopper for me as I LOVE rightclick. I've become so accustomed to it that my PC feels VERY cumbersome without it. If I can't get it working I will have to go back to XP. Not a tough decision as Vista still has a LOT of issues with compatibility. I was hoping that most of these would have been resolved by now...but that's a topic for another thread on another forum....

I just need my beloved RC to work!!

Is RightClick loaded in the systray?
Can you test again as an admin (if you have not already)?

nevermind. i'm going back to XP...i'll re-install Vista in a year or so...when it's out of beta. LOL! this thing is buggy as hell!!! it sure looks pretty - but as far as i can tell...that's all it has going for it.

I've the same problem. If I right click, the default popup showsup. If double-rightclick then RightClick menu shows up every time.

another scenario:

The RightClick menu shows up if I right click only when the default popup is already up

You are not alone. The situation under Windows 7 is even worse.  If RightClick is running, Explorer crashes as soon as you try to right-click on anything.

Unfortunately, it appears RightClick is officialy dead. In another post, Frogboy states that RightClick, Keyboard Launchpad and unnamed other Stardock programs will no longer be supported, though their features may find their way into new applications.

ok i understand rightclock officially dead

but why, it is still very much needed

is it a technical problem that won't allow such a program on windows 7

is it because stardock is too busy on other projects to update it for windows 7

is it because stardock presently does not have someone with the talent to do the work

is it because stardock is not makeing enough money on it to fix it

not enough interest

or it it something else

i dont know

its sad, maybe someone could post some links to 3rd party freeware, shareware, product that does what right click does

it would like to use it but just dont have the time right now to look for a replacement

since i just resubscribed to object desktop i would hope that stardock does update rightclick soon, but i'm just one customer...

and as you can see member 3,197,052, not even a very impressive customer number.  if i only had been #1 maybe then they would listen to me even for good old time sake or just because i would have been their first customer... maybe #1 would post a request for them to update right click, i would think that their 1st customer would have used it... :(

#1 owns Stardock ;) (Frogboy/draginol/Da boss)

I doubt anyone would be able to convince him to re-think killing off RightClick

I've been using (and skinning) RightClick since it's release, and still can't see myself not using it.
It's one of the main reasons why I haven't switched to Win7. No RightClick - no Win7.

Works just fine (roughly) on my 64 bit Vista.
