"This doesn't appear to be a valid zip code. Please try again."

First off I love your products. My problem is that I wanted to give DesktopX a try today and it's been about 4 hours now of trying to get rid of the stupid message saying "This doesn't appear to be a valid zip code. Please try again."

If I type ANY number into the select zip code window it pops back up with invalid zip code dialog box. I've tried disabling the weather widget, changing the zip code/location from other option screens and no matter what I've tried I yield no progress at all. Please help me!

What version of DX?
What widget (or theme)? (File name)

version 3.5 and the theme I'm trying to use is "adni18_VistaLook_1024x768.desktop" but I've tried other themes and they all do the same thing. I'm not running any virus protection software either.

Yea it is spooky.. I think I'm going to give up on it for now. Maybe get vista and try it out again on there. I definetly like the program tho and it doesn't seem like anybody else is having the same problem. Thanks anyways.

Weather widgets have been a bit finicky lately - try clearing the cache
Some of the older weather widgets use the example of enter: London,England
Well that no longer works. You must type in London,United Kingdom ( typed exactly with comma directly after london then no space United Kingdom )

Abbreviations no longer work on some locations as in Wellington,NZ
You must type in full location now Wellington,New Zealand

Try clearing cache first , it usually clears up the problem and use full location names.
To clear widget cache:
Right Click On DesktopX Icon > Welcome Screen > Load Widgets > Options > Clear Widgets Cache > Ok > Close

And they don't all use the same weather - VistaLook is using the weather at yahoo, some use weather.com and some use accuweather

yes, as Fairyy~ said, try clearing the cache

I'll be bock...

Weather is still working 3.49f[rc].017

Radio is not quite an ideal dialup option though

Yeah, the gadgets that use accuweather won't recognise New Zealand at all.

Too bad people don't return to let you know if things work out, hard to help others when you never know the outcome.

End of Kazel's quote

Kazel--The Weather Channel has cut off the feed, and the widgets will no longer work, They will all have to be reconfigured by the author. A solution for the skinners is almost ready. See these threads.
