Loss of ship and starbase detail

Earlier this summer I tried to speed up my game (I was trying a larger game) by removing details (like ship textures, etc.) Now, I am trying to play smaller games again and the game does not want to show the ship/starbase details, even though I have tried to reset the options and set things to higher resolution display. The planets look fine, but I can't tell what race a ship or staarbase belongs to by looking at them. Any clues as to how I can get teh better display back? Iusually play on the metaverse.

Can you be a bit more specific about the problem? Are all the ships all white, or are they colored but not textured, etc?
ObjectDock - Access shortcuts and frequently used applications from an animated dock.

Just turn off the 'enhanced ship rendering' setting in the options screen and it should sort that.
