Fog of war bug

FOW is not removed from my view when I lose a ship, even after several turns or after game reload. This is quite handy for me, but definitively a bug. I have a save game.

I can produce a saved game with such a bug. Does it interest the dev team?

If you are running the latest version of the game, you can send the save (zipped!) with your debug.err and a description of the problem to gc2bugs@stardock.com.

Ah, I've seen this myself many times, particularly when I lose starbases, I will still have the sensor radius of that starbase revealed permanently.

Indeed, this is a commong bug, at least in all my games. Strange it is not reported yet.

Here you go, you will see several examples of erroneous FOW removal:

Gc2bugs doesn't always send an automatic reply. It is in the bug tracker though now so it'll get looked at when possible.

Dare I suspect it has been too temptingly useful to all of us? I too have seen this in virtually every game.

Death by enemy violence seems to permanently suffuse that radius of space with friendly probe drones.

Gee, I haven't tried it but if one were to rapidly push out lots of cheap basic overlapping influence bases, maybe with just the free perimeter scanners added, then let the opponents kill them, would you still have permanent reconnaisance into those areas? Does anyone know if the effect lasts beyond reloads? Hmmm...

yes it last the whole game. And this is 100% reproducible.

Thanks Kryo for the update.
