More DX Items that don't work right

it's still not ready for RC status..

Since you have upgraded the status of DX to RC, I think you should really address some issues that are present before you go final with this version.

1. Where is the Digital Clock plugin?
- all I have in the Additional Abilities section that are clock related is the Analog Clock 3. Didn't there used to be a digital clock one?

2. System Information tool...
- I have 4GB of Memory. (Windows only recognizes 3Gb due to chipset/32bit limitations, despite the bios seeing all 4 GB) The Info tool only sees 2047.

3. OS Info: Vista Ultimate shows simply as "Pro".

4. The Vista Performance Meters - UAC is turned off and they just don't work. (I realize you know this already, but it IS worth reminding you of.)

I just noticed this. The SDPlugin Meters on RightClick work on Vista. Aren't they based on DesktopX?

and the systray still doesn't work - will it be possible at all?

funny you mention that gef. I have experienced faulty DX systray and taskbar object behavior since the dawn of DX. It's NEVER been reliable for me.

gotta love the way SD pays attention to these...

Hi Phoon,

(1) I don't recall there being a digital clock plugin? I just looked back to the last non-beta release and didn't see any digital clock plugin?

(2 & 3) Looking in to updates for that module ; the ones responsible for that specific piece are running behind so that update will likly be available in a 3.5x update if it doesnt make it in the non-beta.

(4) We're working for a workaround, including looking at the option of completly rewriting the plug-in and shimming things to make it work, but Microsoft really broke this one good with little recourse.

(5) We are activly working on getting a rebuild of this, it is most certainly on the list. I'd expect the next update to have it resolved.

Thanks Jeff.
I wasn't 100% sure of #1. I have an old version of DXPro (3.10 from 2005) hanging around. I might fire that up in a VM to see if I can find it. It could be a simple matter of my encrusted brain tissue..

Why do the meters in RC work, but not DX?

I havent updated to this version but I've had a few people tell me that they could not ' see' the Text date widgets at all. I had them look in the SDPlugin's and the SDTextDate.dll was missing also. I sent them the dll and then it worked for them.
Not sure why this dll would be missing too ( they have the latest 3.5 beta version )
