Performance Issue

Dock not assigned enough memory?

Hey guys! I'm using ObjectDock v1.90 Build 536. The dock has been 'Optimized for Performance', and the image quality has been set to 'Lower quality'. Every time the dock gets a fresh start, ie. when PC boots up or the dock is restarted, it is assigned 7500+KB of memory. This causes quite sluggish graphical performance of the dock, ie. laggy mouseover zoom. Surprisingly, after clicking on the icon to configure the dock, the memory allcation shoots up to 8500+KB and stays there. Only thereafter the graphical performance of the dock is up to expectation. Anybody out there sharing a similar experience, or has a solution to it? Pls share! I don't wish to keep giving the dock a manual "memory boost" to make it work well!

Try running with no docklets and see if it performs more like you want.  Then add docklets back to see which one may be causing the issue.

I'm not running any docklets. I realised that the numbers for the memory allocation I provided above vary quite a bit, but in general, the dock is not assigned satisfactory amounts of memory at a fresh start. Only after clicking the "Configure Dock" icon that memory allocation receives a boost to satisfactory levels. Weird huh?

Just as a fast and possible dirty fix (depending on how you feel about ATI and NVidia) have you tried checking to see if your drivers are updated? I went to the beta drivers of NVidia and it cleared multiple issues for me.
