Can my cpu take full advantage of the AI?

One of the biggest reasons I got this game was because of the AI. Computer and robotic AI has always been fascination of mine since I was a kid even though I have no AI programming experience.

The AI in this game is just fantastic (although its no HAL 9000) at least compared to so many other games I've played. Is this the only game out there that specifically designed to be played against the computer?

My real question is, after reading the article in the updated manual about AI taking advantage of the features dual core cpu's have I was wondering if this can also apply to single core cpu's with hyperthreading. I have a Intel Pentium 4 3.2 cpu with hyperthreading, according to the documentation hyperthreading makes a single core act as two virtual cores
and in many ways still acts a dual core ( a newbie still learning about computers).

Anyway this has got to be one of the most addictive games I've ever played.

Are you talking about the CPU Intensive Algorithms or whatever that option is called? My understanding is you don't need a multicore processor to use it, but it does require more crunching by the cpu between turns (so it's possible the delay might be longer). Turn it on and try it.

I asked Cari and she said she does believe that the game will use hyperthreading. Though it's not really a matter of if your computer can handle it (if you turn on enhanced CPU usage, it does the same thing regardless of your CPU), just that it'll go faster if it does have that extra ability than it would without.
