Clicking the default button sets the game to use the mods folder in the default location (creating it if it doesn't exist).

For DL, this is GalCiv2\Mods, and for DA, it's GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods. You just need to put any mods you want to use in the appropriate folder, and they'll be accessible again.

The batch file included with KHSM must be run from the appropriate location in order for it to properly copy the hull models to the mods folder, so if you weren't putting the mod in the right place before (the default folder), that would explain why that didn't work.

Kryo I looked in the location for dark avatar, there is no mods folder.

Which location specifically? Clicking the default button (if you did it in DA rather than DL, anyway) creates the Mods folder if it doesn't already exist, so there should be one there.

rhe location was totalgaming/galciv2/darkavatar. then there is no folder named 'mods'
there is for galciv dreadlords but ive put mods in there but when i try to select them there are no mods listed.

I had the same exact issue. You can correct it by going to your Windows Documents folder, then \My Games\GC2DarkAvatar. There is a file there called prefs.ini. Scroll down and change the ModsDir entry back to the default and save. Then reopen the game and you should be all set.

ModsDir=C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods
