Raceconfig.xml - the ignore flags don't work properly?

How are the ignore flags supposed to work?

At the moment, when using a raceconfig.xml file in a mod directory, the following things happen:

1. The race doesn't appear in the "Pick Your Civilization" screen. This would be the main point of the ignore flag and it works great.

2. The race does appear in the "Choose Opponents" screen. Not sure if this is intended as you can add custom races via other xml files but it's no show stopper.

3. On the same "Choose Opponents" screen, after adding a custom race it cannot be removed. That is, normal races work fine but any ignored races can only be added and not removed. This IS a problem.

I posted this in the modding forum to no reply... it probably belongs here

Thank you for reporting this.  The intended behavior is for the race is not appear in the game (as exhibited by #1).  #2 and #3 will need to be fixed.

Thanks for the quick response! Who would have known the support forum was the place to ask such questions?!?

I have lots of questions, but if I could ask just one more...

Is there a (maintained) list somewhere of all the files that work properly in the modfolder? GC2_Hints.xml is one that comes to mind as not working, but that would seem logical to allow.

AFAIK they all *should*. If you do find any that don't, please report them.

Hello,

I made a language mod and encounter similar problems as rav8,
so I encounter that with the exe file of DarkAvatar,
several xml files in the mods folder (equal if I use the mods folder in DL or
the mods folder in DA) seemed no longer linked proper (in DL the linking working proper).

files are i.e. the flavour.xml, tooltips.str,

as rav8 sayed hints.xml, sometimes it is in
the default english version sometimes in the translated version,
I am imagine the faster I am clicking across the setting windows,
the higher the possibility to getting the default hints.xml,
it is only a subjective imagine.

Also as rav8 sayed raceconfig.xml, if I change there RaceName or/and
DisplayName, I got issues like rav8 had explained.

I didn't testing more, instead that I install the translated english folder
complete directly into the DarkAvatar directory, and renamed the original one to
something else.
With this inelegantly method I had only the problem cases hints.xml and the
race.config race naming thing (temporary solution: I let both names in english).
