Somebody please solve this!

I have read numerous 'can't figure this out' threads but I am unable to locate one that contains the issue that I am experiencing. The problem is this:

Step 1: Create/Download a Logon
Step 2: Apply logon
Step 3: Log out to look at Logon
Step 4: Once logged out, all I can see is my desktop background and the only thing I can do is hold down my power button (No I don't get the dialog box with the password field either)

Does anybody know a solution to this? I created a logon that I really would like to use. Help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

is the issue with the one created or with one downloaded?

do the default logons that come with LS work?

what OS?

None of the logons work, not even my default will work now.
I am running Windows XP SP2 Media Center Edition. For some reason the logons stopped working (they ran just fine in the past). I've made logons before but I can't seem to fix this...

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Logon Studio. Sometimes the install will corrupt and you have to reinstall it.

What antivirus?

Did it happen to quarantine jpgutils.dll as a trojan?

it's maybe a long shot - I have TrendMicro and after an update a couple of weeks ago, it snagged jpgutils.dll and LS stopped working. Once I put it back, all was fine.

I have Norton, sadly lol. It's out of date though. I'm going to use Trend Micro now.

Nope, I have jpgutils.dll in my System32 folder and my AV didn't pick it up. The odd part though is that after I re-apply the default windows logon it will work until I close LS and when I start my computer I only see a password dialog. My logons use to work just fine.

Have you recently installed a wireless router?

It's a known problem on the secondary machine that has the adapter....it installs a file that disables the use of logons. The primary with the router has no problems, but the secondary can't use them and just gets the password dialog.

Just a guess....

Actually I have, but the problem began before that
In addition to that, when I log back out I cannot see anything other than my desktop BG.

Well, if you're on the secondary with the adapter, you'll probably have to live with no logons unless you can find a solution.

If you're on the primary with the router, it has to be something else that's causing the problem.

it's a system thing
domains are usually set up/maintained by company sysadmins

on the domains I've been on, they usually configured to use ctrl+del for log on/off
when I hit ctrl+del on our domain I get a six box window including lock, log off, taskmgr, etc instead of just taskmanager as here at home
wehn I hit winkey+l it usually just screen locks on the domain instead of bringing up fast user switching

LS only skins when 'use the welcome' is activated - domains don't use the 'click your user icon'

on your home system, you would be logging into your computer
on a domain, you're logging into a domain which then brings your basic settings into that computer - that which you saved onto your desktop on one computer will not be on another computer if you log on there

computer on domains aren't set for you to log on to one particular computer, but any computer within the domain

something like that

Oh okay, thanks. How do I know if I'm the primary on the router? I'm always the one to set it up. I only operate on a home network from a laptop.
