Does anyone know if there are any widgets that let you text from your pc for free??

do you mean SMS from your pc to a phone?

if so .. no.. i was going to try and make something like that but i have not found a way to do it. But does Skype do that?

yeah, exactly like that. sms to a phone for free.

If you mean without your provider charging you for the time or taking off your minutes for the messages you receive(depending on how your plan works), I doubt it is possible.

If you mean being able to send a text message without a charge for sending it, you can use any email client to do that. All you need is your phone's email address.

Google it and you can find the email formats for most carriers.
