Running Tasks only works for short time

I'm using windows vista x32 and object dock 1.9
When I start Object Dock, the running tasks are displayed in the dock and work beautifully but after about 5 minutes the running task icons stop working. it continues to display programs that have been closed and won't add newly opened programs. To fix it, I just restart ObjectDock, but it's getting rather annoying to do this every few minutes.
Any ideas? I haven't been able to find any evidence of a similar problem in the forum.
