Objectbar buggy - virtual desktops, task list, won't start on startup

I'm running the latest version of objectbar, with a customised 'Vista' theme containing the DesktopX clock, a few meters, a weather repart and the virtual desktops. My system is a C2D 6300 with 2GB RAM, XP Pro and two 7600GTs running three monitors. I have WindowFX active, and Windowblinds is using the Jitter theme.
The virtual desktop facility is *very* slow in switching desktops when used in an objectbar, but not when used with the Windows task bar.
Apps on monitor 2 (to the left of the primary monitor) are forced onto the primary monitor when switching from one virtual desktop, to another and back to the first.
Objectbar does not start on startup, even when the option is ticked and sometimes even when directly placed in the startup group.
Occasionally objectbar consumes all of one core.
The tasklist DesktopX component is unusable as it resizes the width of the objectbar at random, instead of snapping into its assigned position.
Any advice? I'd like to use Objectbar, but so far I'm really not that impressed. The old control centre worked better.
