Is this a bug?

While trying my 1000th try at winning the "apocalypse" campain mission I have come to notice that about 1/2 of the time when I play this mission the map has zero anomalies. No wormholes or space junk at all for my surveyor to collect. The other half of my games on this map there is plenty of "space junk" on the map at the start.

Just wondering if this is a bug. Why is it that about 1/2 the time there my map is clear of anomalies at the start of this mission and the other half plenty?

Definitely odd. Have you experienced this on any other maps or in the sandbox game? Also, if you have played a sandbox game previously, what did you last have the anomaly setting set to?

Not that I recall, I'll try a few sandbox games and see what happens. I'm pretty sure I had it set to either abundant or normal the last SB game I played. (which was quite a while ago, had my hands full been trying to beat the dread lords campaign lately)
