Folder problem

i wanted to have a folder (on ObjectDock) filled with custom entries but i didn't want it to be a fly-out.
it seems the only custom folder i can have is a fly-out but i find fly-outs to be unreliable in terms of speed;sometimes they're really slow & ,although they look nice,i'd rather have a simple list-view that shows quickly.
am i missing something?
is there a way to do this?
i need custom entries because i have to specify a particular program to open certain files so i can't just sling a "normal" folder on the dock as that would mean the files within the folder would all open in default applications...that's no good.

Just make your custom folder wherever you want it (ie: My Documents). Make your shortcuts of the programs you want in the folder.(Right click on program exe. Click create shortcut). Drag shortcuts into folder. Drag folder onto dock. Right click on folder on dock, Click on Dock entry Properties. Click check box " Show folder in a menu".
I like to use my Quick launch folder.
I don't know what you mean by "Custom Folder". I will have to leave that to someone else. You can right click with any extract file and click Open with .. Choose Program.
Hope this helps.

thanks sleepydawg but that's no good.
i tried that.
the issue is that i need some way of being able to edit the entries in the folder which you can do freely when you add things to a custom folder but the type of folder the custom one is seems to JUST be a fly-out.
i'm stuck.
