MSN Messenger

is there a solution for this???

I am using MSN Windows Live Messenger. I have windows taskbar desactivated and i hace a dock with my open/minimized programs set to autohid. Whenever someone initiates a chat with me, the chat window starts up minimized. So, if I have my sound turned off, and i am not looking at my running tasks dock, then I usually don't notice it. Really annoying!
Is there a way to get round this, lets say that the dock shows up when someone talks to me or something like that, so i don't have to enable mns's sounds.
Thank you

It should start bouncing or glowing by default. You can make it bounce or glow or rock in Preferences.

it does not, i mean, i can set it up to have a lit triangle on the dock where the shortcut is, but i want the dock with the taskbar items (minimized) to show up and let me know that something has opened. Both docks are in autohide.

right click on it - dock entry properties

what's 'run' set at?

normal window
but that's on the shorcut dock, not on the taskbar one. should i set it to maximize?

it doesn't work, msn's chat window is minimized and when that person talks to me nothing happens in the minimized programs dock.

huh. I use freeloader version of Odock and if I have msn messenger minimized and the dock on autohide, the icon drops down and bounces

do you have the minimized/open programs in the same dock qith the shortcuts to the programs or u have 2 different docks (like i do)?
In Dock Settings, Effects, Other appearence settings: do u have "Show running indicators...." ticked? if so, it's set to default?
i believe that the problem lies in one of those things, please let me know what configuration u r using. Thanks a lot mate

on the freeloader version - you only get on dock (and no system tray)
I have programs loaded on the left with minimized shown as a thumbnail
I have the running tasks indicator set on a little triangle
I also have the 'bounce effect' turned on - the bounce effect option is not in the same place as the triangle option - check all the tabs and each miscellaneous/advanced within each tab - check the pull down menus on each (I'm at work = no dock allowed & I can't remember where it is)

yes i found the bounce option and it works that way, thanks!
the only thing that i don't like is that you can't set different bounce/glow options for the different docks, but's not a big deal.
thank you very much for your help Bichur!!
