Custom Logo problems

Hi, I'm currently customising a few races, and am having problems with the custom Logos.
They appear with a black box in the upper left corner when appearing on the strat map, and when I go to the civ settings screen (the one with morality, ai usage etc) the logo turns into a huge black box that obscures half of the screen. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could fix this problem? In theory the logos should work, as I've used them in DL (currently running latest version of DA).
And I think this is in the right forum, as it is technically a modding question.
