Why is the turn button sometimes green?

Sometimes the 'turn' button is green, and sometimes it isn't.

It seems to be green more often early in the game.
Any idea why? Does it make any difference?
Cheers!

I *think* it's green when there are no ships with any movement points left.

Correct.

Thanks!
That prompts me to ask,can you move ships *without* pressing the turn button? I typically select a ship, then right click a location, and each time I click Turn the ships move. But it sounds like you can move ships around within a turn?

Sorry for newby question!

You can.

Only the autopilot moves will be made in the of the turn. If you mofe your ships a short distance (only using the movement points for this turn) or move it grid-by-grid with the keyboard, the autpilot will not be engaged.

Actually I think it turns green also if you "space" through ships witch has movement points left.

Spacing through all of our ships eliminates their movement points, so it's turning green because none of your non-autopilot ships have any movement points left.
