'ObjectDock has recovered settings from previous to a recent crash...'

Why do I keep getting this ANNOYING message!

Using 1.9 free version and despite the fact I saved my theme, I keep getting this message like every other startup. I have no live info docklets (like weather, news, system info, etc.) All I have are program icons which have not changed since I installed and I still keep getting this message every other time I startup my PC.
I even deleted the default theme so there wouldn't be a question of which theme to load - but still, almost every time I boot up my machine I get this error.

Is there anything I can do about this?

I have the same problem. Just before I shutdown my PC I close ObjectDock manually. Then at startup ObjectDock boots like it should.
It's annoying and keeps me from buying OD Pro.

Same here. It's the first program in a while that I would buy, if not for that stupid message...

Have any of you contacted stardock support about this? You should. They probably can help you, then, if they do, you might just want to purchase Pro. Don't let an error message keep you from buying this great product untill you've tried to get professional support from the maker.

Doesn't Stardock support read these forum posts? I thought this was a way of contacting them...?

No, they usually don't read the forums. You may get luck if JB (OD Developer) is around but it's best to send an email to support@stardock.com for help. Be specific in your email (possibly screen capture the actual message) to get the best possible help. They are VERY good at resolving problems, but you probably won't get "Instant" results. 24 hour time window for responses I believe.

Actually we do read these forums but the first 5+ hours of our day go into the support tickets/emails.

Give this a shot to clear your cache. This dosen't work send us an email to support@stardock.com.

Go to start > run and then copy this into the command line:

%userprofile%\local settings\application data\stardock

It will open a file folder. Delete the ObjectDock one. Be sure to save before doing all of this.

This should clear your issue. Please let me know if you still have problems.

Cheers

Actually, I may have fixed it! I don't want to jinx it but if it still doesn't work, I'll try what you said - btw, thanks for responding.

What I did was I changed the command in my registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER - > Control Panel -> Desktop -> AutoEndTask 1 to 0.
I forgot that when I first installed XP Pro two years, I changed this setting to speed up shutdown. But I read on another site that this change can sometimes cause programs to forget their settings.
I've restarted several times now and have not gotten any errors.
Will check back in a day or so and let you know...
