Old GC2 player, new DA player

Like the title says, I've been playing GC2 since the day it came out, but I only recently got DA. The thing is, I can't work out what most of the stuff in the game does, or how to access it. For instance, what do spies do? When do you get Mega Events? Things like that. Is there anywhere I can visit that will give me a list of features in DA, and explanations of them all?

Mega events happen randomly. You'll notice when they happen, since they often have quite some consequences. Basically, the longer a game lasts, the more likely you'll see a mega event.

About spies, first thing you have to do is to set some non-zero espionage spending. That will generate spies in certain intervals, depending how much you spend.
These spies can be used for two things:
- Killing enemy spies on your planets (if there are any)
- Placing on an enemy building

A spy on an enemy building has multiple effects:
- Building stops working
- You slowly gain more information about your enemy. For example with a "High" espionage level, you can inspect all planets of that enemy from the galaxy screen.
- Low chance to steal a random technology.

One strategy involving spies:

Before invading a planet, place spies on morale buildings, wait one turn and the invade using "Information warfare", population will be more unhappy. After successful invasion, your spies are available for other missions again.
