IconPackager not responding

IP locks after clicking Control Panel button

IP (version 3.20.128) stops responding as soon as I click the Control Panel button in the Icons and Cursors panel. The only way out is to kill IP. The other buttons on that pane are working just fine.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

maybe a bad install - have you tried a reinstall?

Ok, I followed your advice and it is working now. But not w/o a hassle!
The uninstall didn't work via the SDC. So, I looked around the forum to see if others had bad experiences with uninstalling IP and found a utility called The Zapper. That did the trick. I re-installed IP via SDC and it asked me to start IP right away. I answered Yes, but nothing happened. I looked wich processes were running and I found multiple instances of IP running. Probably instances left behind when I tried to uninstall via SDC previously. I killed all those instances and voila, IP ran smoothly with all buttons working.
Wow, I think Stardock should make this a bit user friendly!

Thanks!

I do an uninstalling and reinstalling programms only through control panel and I didn't have any problems ever with Stardock stuff.

On my system all Object Desktop components (e.g. IP) are maintained by SDC; not through the standard Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel. I'm not aware of a situation that you can use the standard Control Panel to (un)install OD components; maybe if you buy and install components separately - I can't tell.

If Icon Packager freezes when attempting to change Icons and shows in Windows Task Manager "SDDimmedWait/SDNullOut" Try this it worked for me: Load Icon Packager, Open "Settings", Untick (cross) "Show Splash Screen When Applying Packages" and hey bingo IP will work within seconds.  grails78
