Packaged Pre-Generated maps

Anywhere I can find a description?

Hey,

So I finally decided to play the Pre-made map "Epic" that comes with the game. I was excited to have a huge map with an even distribution of stars, but was disappointed to find out that every star system was exactly the same. One star per sector, one planet per star. Is there anyplace I can find a description or map of how all the pre-made maps look? Is there one for the scenarios? The in-game descriptions are very terse. Thanks for your help.

Not that I am aware of offhand, but if you can get one of the user-made map editors working you may be able to load the maps and look at them there. There's one stickied in the modding forum, and if that won't work, I believe MrKorx is working on a new one.

Kryo is wright, that is exactly the reason for writing the GC2IDE because, as I think, most of us don't like hitting ctrl N
However that version does not include a mapeditor, just scenario-/campaigneditor, but I already sent out some prereleases of the new version featuring the mapeditor as well.
It is now almost feature complete, and should be up on I-mod within the next days(depends on the feedback).
So far you'll be able to:
create/open/save DL & DA maps
place/edit stars,planets(ring/moon),asteroidfields, resources, ships
place a whole starsystem
Future work will focus on improving the 3Dengine(cosmetic)and UI tweaks etc...

The one stickied on the forum does not feature DA, and has the big disadvantage, that it only saves your work correctly, if you are running an english Win, most european users lost their work due to decimal placeholder differences
