Looking for help for the Star Wars total converstion

Hi there,

Some of you might have herd I am trying to resurrect the Star Wars mod. So far I have done well. I have a already downloadable Imperial pack of star ships thanks to Evillejedi's star wars models, already converted and hardpointed. I could really use some help with the tech tree and adding in real factions, right now everything is pretty generic. I am storming ahead in my free time on the rebels. The work should be "easier" since I am sticking to two factions. I know there are alot of people out there who love the clone wars, hell I am one of them but saddly there is just not enough ships to flesh out four factions, if I find some more ships or something changes I will create the clone war factions as well, but for now I am going to add their ships to the Imperial and Rebel fleets as a nice little bonus.

If you want to try out the Imperial ships or are intrested in helping, and any help is great, pics, data info or even someone who knows the tech of star wars really well would be a great help. Please check out our section at the I-mod website.

see the download section for the ships. Thee all in S99_ format which means you just place them in the correct folder and they are playable as a generic hull and there is a readme as well.

UPDATE 6/8/2007

A have release a "beta" version of the Imperial ship pack with new ships and rescaling.

Also the republic and rebel packs are available for download.

I hope many more talented modders will join up as well---I would love to see more weapon effects from Terraner---maybe movies from Spax---or a joint effort from the other mod teams---bab5:) --- would be cool to have a bunch of mods in one

Hi you all, as I just said to aggie, the starwars Mod gets full support of me and my Team at I-Mod, there should be nothing missing for you to make a high class Mod.
Of course I'll make a cool weapon package of the 2nd generation for the starwars Mod, so much mod-atmosphere is garanteed!

I am liking what I am seeing.
With the backing of the I-mod team, thanks Stefan, I feel we can made a really great mod. Makes me glad mid terms are over.

Hay if there is anyone out their with a particular skill come on over all help is welcomed and encouraged that why everything I am doing is free and open to the public if anyone wants to contribute anything they have alrady done or would be willing to do some thing that they feel comfortable doing come on over to the i-mod website and join up.

Good job, we could some race pics, all work is good work one thing I have noticed about the good mods is the details. Race pics, trade pics, invasion tactic photos and what not those are jobs that are good for people who might not have tons of experience yet really add alot to the feel of the total converstion if you can help there that would be great.

Just a bit of news.

I have been able to more or less construct four factions with the vong maybe being a fifth down the road. I am thinking I might be able to release the Republic, Rebel, and CIS packs as well as a improved Imperial pack, did some scaling issues and included a few more ships ie SSD and the tie bomber.

Hey I really like what your doing and i wish i could help out but I don't know how to do anything mod related and I can't even get DA (still trying to get it though) However my brother does have the Star Wars Encyclopedia if theres something you don't know.

Also, why is Darth Vader leading the Empire? I thought that was Palpatine. And i also thought that Mon Mothma led the Rebel Alliance. And why are the rebels the war party, theres no way i could see them that way. Same with the Empire being federalists.

And PLEASE say your going to have the Death Star and it can blow up planets THAT WOULD BE SWEET!!!!!
And maybe you could take out colonizing planets because that just dosen't really have the Star Wars fell to it.

Hay that encyclopedia might come in handy when I begin work on the tech tree. If you want you can join the team as a tech/history advisor or something assuming you get he game soon. If you want you can head over to the i-mod site and we can talk about that.

As far as leaders I haven't started on the faction leaders yet I have only officially done ships, but of course Mon Mothan and Palpatine are the leaders though we might include others just for some fun, like off shoots of factions for example a rogue squadron or vader fist but thats neither here nor there.

As far as the death star, I really hope I can add it but as far as I have been told their is no way to code in a ship that can destroy a planet hopefully some one will figure that out or stardock will create a dooms day weapon that destroys planets but for now I don't plan to add the Death Star, but again not because I dont want to but because I cant.

I had thought of that but it could only be the DS 2 then since star bases can move, but yeah I think in the end that is what we will do for now.

So what about the whole colonizing thing I asked earlier, im really curious about that. and the encyclopedia also has some planets that arent really mentioned at all. and this has been jumping around in my head for a while, will the Black Sun pirates be in here like a minor race or random ships shooting everything or is it just going to be Rebels vs. Imperials and the minors dont matter? just been wondering that.

hey i just looked at the site and wondered if theres going to be littiler ships for earlier on like maybe the Z-95 Headhunter comes before the X-wing and heres a little time killer you have the B-wing with its F-foils(at least i think theyre F on the B-wing)still deployed but on the side that would make for a little insignificant detail/eyecandy.

Well for now the colony thing is still in since its a key part of the game but we do have a new team member who does custom maps so we may try in the future to make a senerio where all the planets are already sided with the factions.

Dont know about the black sun pirates depends if I have their ships or not but if so I dont see why they could not be a faction as well but not in the early stages of the mod.

The z-95 is in the game already, we even have the sith fighter from KOTOR thanks to majorpayne. The b-wing is with it f foils out.

ok i just didnt see the z-95 there and i meant, the b wing be deployed BUT lying on its side as its deployed. i guess some piolts preffered that or something.

as I was working on the map, I soon realized that I would have to decide on factions before I really got going. I have compiled a list of possible factions for the Imperial or Dark Times era.

let me know what you think...we could easily just take empire, alliance, vong, chiss, and black sun as major races...there are also a few more minor races we could add. The second name is the homeworld, btw.

Good question. We had this debate with the old team as well. I guess we should start simple with just the main factions Rebel vs Empire, CIS vs Republic then expand into more diverse factions.

Why not use Wookieepedia for info? Its a Star Wars wiki with over 40,000 articles, down to the last little turbolaser.

yeah..I've been getting most of my info from wookiepedia...very good resource Also a great way to waste loads of time if you have it!
