Here is a nice paper, which makes me want to install Linux on my PS3, so I can try out some programming for the Cell processor. Looks like fun, might be fun, stay tuned!

My dad bought a PS3 just so he could play around with the processor... I don't think he has done much with it other than install Gentoo but I rented Oblivion once when I went back and he liked it so much he bought it... haha. I'm going to get a chance to do some programming on it when he sets me up an account on the network, should be fun!
