lock position?

Is there some way to lock the icons' positions? I find I'm regularly dragging them all over the desktop by accident - then I have trouble finding where I left them as I keep them fairly transparent.

That'd be great if there was, but I don't think there currently is a way to do so.

I need this feature also. I'm always accidentally dragging them off the dock and losing them. It's a pain.

if you are using objectdock, then right click the dock scroll to this dock, then choose lock dragging, this locks the isons onto the dock and they can no longer be moved or accidently dragged off the dock
