DL Ships in DA?

Hello!

I've recently bought a copy of Dark Avatar, and I was curious, is it possible to transfer custom ships from Dreadlords to Dark Avatar? I have designed a few good looking ships (not in the same league as some other members custom ships, but I like them) and I dont have the patience to redesign them in Dark Avatar!

Copy the appropriate .xml and .shipcfg file from My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships to My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\ships, then change the Sn_ prefix on the shipcfg file to S99_ (this should make it available under all styles, since the styles were redone in DA).

Hi I'm probably being really obtuse here, but what do you mean by change the prefix? I've tried changing the files name from S0 to S99 and haven't had any luck. Cheers.

Did you copy the matching .xml file too? Also, in case you're playing a metaverse game, the files need to go to \Metaverse\ships rather than just \ships.

What if you want to add the NX and Constitution ships from DL? There is no shipcfg file with the downloaded files?

If you're talking about the models on the library by Matthew Thiel, those aren't restricted to any one version of the game, they're just models. You'll need to mod an xml file for them to get them into the game in either case.

I fixed the Xml and tested in game, The ships came out as ship components.
