Racial Picks Remain for AI?

If you choose a bonus for one race play a game and then pick another race and play a new game. Does the race you picked first keep that bonus as the AI in the next game. When I go to set up games now some of they races say they are retaining the racial picks that I assigned them and they seem to be doing better in the colony rush and overall strength of their empire. Are they using the racial picks that I choose for them last game?

I noticed this too, and I'm not sure if it's coincidence or not that the race i previously was became the galactic dominator over the other AI's.

Since i think it alters them, I'll select the one I was, clear it, save it, then delete the "custom" version of it. That brings it back to its original settings.

Yes and it's kind of a pet peeve of mine. I wish the game would randomize what it gave them. They also keep the emperor name. Why do they make you fight yourself when you choose another race?
