link with desktopX

OK with DXBuilder, bad with desktopX

hello.
with DXBuilder
In a same folder I put a object link (mylink.dxpack) and a file (mymovie.avi).
My link is simply mymovie.avi (not: C:/blabla/blabla/blabla/mymovie.avi)
If i click on my link in DXBuilder that open WMPlayer and start mymovie.avi.
but, with desktopX the link is dead and if I create object mylink.exe the link is dead too.
Why it's OK with Builder and not good with others?
how do that, I need to export the file and his contents.
thank for anwers.
bye.

If I understand you correctly the object you created works in the DX theme, but not as a standalone gadget (mylink.exe). You may need to specify the full path to the avi file for it to work in the gadget. You can also include the avi file in a zip file (with the mylink.exe file and instructions for installation) to the end user, if that's the other part of your question.

hello.
yes, I know that.
but, I don't understand why it works with DXBuilder and not works with desktopX or as .exe.
that all.
thank you again.
bye.

Could you possibly upload your dxpack somewhere and reference it here? I can take a look at it and see why it might not be loading.

BigDogBigFeet is right though, when referencing items from within your script, it's best to use an absolute, rather than relative path.
