Multiple "Vegan" minor races

I noticed while playing DA that I saw a minor race (Vegans) come up twice. You know, this new race has appeared and colonized such&such a planet? I thought it was a little repetitive, and couldn't see them on the map. A short time later I got a quarterly report with five "Vegans" listed, and then I noticed one Vegan planet on the map. Just thought I'd mention it.

Well, the Vegans are a segregated lot.

They firmly believe in total separation of their respective genetic groups.

So, early on in their spacefaring days, they decided that each 'group' would colonize only their own planets.

If it happened that way for the Terran's, then the Blacks would colonize their own world's, the Whites their own world's, the Polynesians and Asians their own, and so on.


So it should come as no surprise that the Vegans may appear more than once as a minor race, or that they should colonize more than one planet in their separateness.

The multiples of the same minor issue is fixed in the 1.6 beta patch available here.

I haven't seen any posts about this, so ... has anyone mentioned that (in all the versions of DA I've had, including the latest) that Starbase Defenses does not provide the Beam Interceptor as listed in the Research screen? Energy Grid and Missile Defender are available on military starbases, as promised, when the starbase is created - but the Beam Interceptor is not available until after another constructor is built and sent to the starbase and the starbase upgraded with Battle Stations 1, at considerable additional time and expense.

Not that it's a big deal, but I suppose it would be more ah, satisfying, to at least see accurate verbage in the research screen to accurately reflect what benefits are actually provided ... especially when the AI coincidently equips attacking ships with the exact thing you can't defend against ... (mumbled imprecation). Thanks for all you've done so far, I'm really enjoying the game!
