Flickering & lock-up in DA

I'm running a Sempron 1.6gb with 2gb ram and 256mb Nvidia 7600gs card and XP SP2.

After playing a few turns of DA (sometimes not even that) the screen starts flickering and the program locks. I have to reset the computer to get out of it.

This has only started recently because it worked fairly well before that. I've seen other threads where it's flickering on vista machines and the 8800 card, but nobody seems to have the same problem as this.

I recently installed the Omega mod. Could this be the problem?

If you had no issues at all before doing so, it could be possible. Omega certainly includes a large number of models which could make trouble for your video card.

In any case, please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. If this is a DA report, you'll find the debug in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar instead. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.

Will do that. I played a few turns last night without a problem, but it was just one or two turns before going to bed. Well, I just had to...

It could be an over-heating problem perhaps, cause it seem to occur when the computers been on for a while.

Anyway, if it happens again I'll post the debug file.
