Vista blinds

Hello, this may be a newbie question , but I would appreciate some help. I downloaded the free version of windowblinds, and have seen some marvelous themes to make my xp machine look like vista. In the photographs, it shows windows and borders with the transparent aero glass. When I download and apply this skin, the borders are completely solid, is this because i do not have the enhanced version of windowblinds? or do I not have enough ram? (I have 512mb)

you cant use the per-pixel transparency with the free version. you have to purchase the enhanced version, or object desktop.

There is no "free" version.......

you will get all the transparency features if u buy the enhanced version of windowblinds, and believe me it is worth every penny. for 20 bux u cant go wrong, even 50 bux for the whole object desktop is very cheap and u get heaps of programs.
take the plunge

Ok, one more question, when I use the free version of blinds, sometimes when i apply a skin, it doesnt work, and my theme just goes to windows classic, has anyone else had this happen?

Well.. its a free trial.

As far as the trial version, sure would be nice if it fully skinned everything for 60 days or so.. to me.. makes no sense not to show the full functionality of WB in all its glory, I mean.. if after 60 days someone isnt convinced to buy it after seeing EVERYthing skinned then they probably never would be. But making available a somewhat limited version that only supports a few selected per pixel skins, to me, would not be nearly as effective as a full trial and may, imo, make the trial far less inviting to perspective buyers.

Im sure plenty of folks new to customizing dont even realize scrollbars arent skinned and assume thats how they always look. Being able to use the full library of skins for 60 days and then have it discontinued or purchase to me would seem far more effective.

Buy Object Desktop. It's worth it. I bought it in 2002 and have renewed it every year since.

Hey vStyler,

I wanted to congratulate you on making a great skin with your 'Tritan' version. I'm on it now.

I'm new to the WB thing, so I've tried a lot of skins up front and I've downloaded quite a few - yours is sturdy but also lean and it loads a lot faster and has a great response time to it.

Also your close-out buttons for the windows are slightly larger than in many other skins. That's one of my pet peeves about many of the WB skins...the close-out buttons at the top of the windows are almost microscopic!!

Thanks again and I hope to look for more, Frank
