Systray not running with my DesktopX themes

Hey guys,

First time I've posted and I hope my question can be understood and answered.

I enjoy using DesktopX and feel fairly comfortable manipulating the themes to my liking and functionality. But on my desktop machine, any theme I install, I can't get the systray to show the icons in use. The taskbar shows everything fine, but no luck with systray. I don't seem to have this problem on my laptop or my desktop computer at work. Just my home PC. Any ideas if something in Windows XP or DesktopX needs to be reconfigured? I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, TDog724

if you go into builder mode and create your own tray, does it work?

if not, check SDC on the machine not showing the icons, tool, settings, general, make sure enable mcp notification area support is checked (it's what pulls in the tray info)

Hello, thanks for the reply.

No it won't work in builder mode and you lost me after that. Sorry.
SDC and MCP? I'm don't know what those acronyms are. Can you explain in more detail?
I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Excute this: WWW Link and your systray will work.

I must look retarded...

SDC- Stardock Central. AND yes, the MCP was NOT checked.
Everything is cool now. Checked it, rebooted and systray is up and running.

Thanks for all the replys and patience. Just when you think you know a little about computing, you inevitably feel stupid.

Thanks, Tdog.

Hey guys,

Just FYI, not sure if you're using Vista or not, but to my knowledge tray support / MCP does not currently work with DesktopX on Vista. We are however working on a solution that uses ObjectDock's new tray technology, so don't worry system tray icons and DesktopX still definitely has a future Just puttin that out there in the event that that's the case! In any case, hope the program is resolved for you soon
