This might be a bug, not sure

Once upon a time there was a player. His name was Fixer. Say hello, Fixer.

One day, Fixer installed Galactic Civilizations II on his desktop and laptop.

But, one day disaster struck!  The desktop died a horrible death while Fixer was playing a large Metaverse game he had been playing for over a month and had ALMOST FINISHED IT.

Fixer, however, was good with machines. He took the hard drive from the desktop and copied the game files to the laptop and the game worked!

He completed the game and went to submit the score but the Metaverse said something about an invalid code or something. All that hard work, gone.

My question is: Are Metaverse games tied directly to a machine or are they portable? I would like to be able to run a single Metaverse savefile on multiple machines (because I can rarely work on just one machine long enough) and still submit my final score to the Metaverse. Can I do this?

Can you play a single Metaverse game across multiple machines?

Yes, that shouldn't be a problem.

He completed the game and went to submit the score but the Metaverse said something about an invalid code or something.

What exactly did the error say?

This was about 6-8 months ago, on a DL game, and it said something about the machine number/code or something. I am trying to remember from memory. Unfortunately my games last months, usually.
