TaskBar not changing

Okay, so I have the dock set to display running tasks on the right side. But I am having some problems with it. When I first run objectDock, it will handle it correctly, however, as soon as I close a window or application, the icon for it remains in the taskbar. For example, If I were to close this window right now, it would remain in the taskbar, but when I click on it, nothing opens. I can't drag it off the taskbar, and the only way I can get it to clear is to restart my dock ( which I really don't want to have to do every 5 minutes). Even when I open the dock settings, and I unselect, and reselect "display running tasks in the taskbar" and close the window, the icon for the dock settings stays in the taskbar. It's not a huge hinderance, but the main reason I use ObjectDock is to get rid of needless icons and clutter, and this seems to be creating more of it.

Hopefully someone has encountered this before, and my long winded complaining post will be solvable

If you don't have the latest version of ObjectDock try downloading and installing the latest version of ObjectDock and see if that will solve your problem.

Are you using some other skinning software such as WindowBlinds. If so try disabling them.

Hi Keithito, what version of Windows are you using? XP? Vista? If Vista, is User Account Control enabled, and were any of the windows in question ran as Administrator? Also, is your version of Windows 32bit or 64bit? Lastly, the "latest version" you have...is that v1.5? Or the v1.6 beta.

Thanks!

I'm currently running XP, 32bit. The version I'm running is v1.5. Other than this problem, the dock behaves absolutely normally.

Oh, and as for other customization applications, I use Talisman Shell, and have for quite some time. However, to be sure ; I disabled it, started in the windows shell, and the dock was doing the same thing.

Also WB and OD play nice together, no need to switch one off.

Why don't you uninstall the OD version you have and delete Object Dock files and then reinstall it. ( But first run Ccleaner and a good registry cleaner.) If you have too, go to My Computer and open it and go to prgrams and make sure the OD has been elemented. Then reinstall a new application.

The latest version is 1.6 beta and it would be best as Rose stated to uninstall but reinstall through Stardock Central found HERE ...make sure you use your e-mail address & password that you used to purchase OD+ to sign into SDC

Also Clearing the Cache anytime you have problems with any Stardock program is a good place to start, you can find the tutorial HERE

Be aware that the tut will take awhile to load as it has a large # of images.

Okay, I've reinstalled it, and I'm still having the same problem. I followed the tutorial and cleared my cache as well.

Keithito: Just to clerify, reinstalled v1.5? (I ask because in the v1.6 beta changes have been made to that exact mechism that could help things out...ObjectDock no longer requires its dependant DLL and hooking to track applications opening/closing/etc so it should be more reliable) Sorry you're experiencing problem...hopfully we can get this worked out soon

okay. The first time I installed the 1.6 beta the same thing started happening. But I uninstalled and then reinstalled it afterwards, and now the problem seems to have disappeared.

Thanks for your help!
