Yor Military Production Failing?

Just a bit confused on this point, maybe somebody out there has the answer.

My current game: DL, Gigantic, abundant everything, Painful, all.

One of my colonies has a Military Production rate of 540. When I focus on Military Production on this planet, instead of increasing, it decreases to 537. Any Ideas on why this may be happening? For the life of me I can not figure it out.

Thanks in advance.

This happens to me as well. I can't seem to find a way to explain it at the moment, but it has to do with how your spending is divided along with the mix of production/research buildings you have on said colony. If you focus military on a planet and have more research spending than military spending, and have research buildings on the planet you can get more production crossed over from research than you would get with the factories alone and more military spending. In your case it sounds like a different combination of the formula, but hopefully you get the gist of it. Maybe someone will come along that can explain it better.

I hope so, because I truly do not understand this. This planet is strictly set up for manufacturing only and has been for a few game years. No social production is currently being run on the planet and there isn't a single research facility. There are two stock markets, a starport, an intensive farm, and a fleet defense structure. The rest are Manufacturing centers. I do have quite a few economic starbases in orbit around the planet.

Makes no sense to me at all. I am by no means concerned all that much about 3 measly points of production, just concerned that it could become more significant later.

I have experienced this situation as well, but I was able to correct my economy. My planet had a base industry of 243 MP and was located at the edge of the sector. I built 4 econ SB's in the sector and 4 more adjacent within the planets area of influence. My POP was around 24B and the citizens were still using too many resources, so I had to establish 2 trade routes to correct the situation. After that I got around 790 to 800 MP's with my military focused, which I used to build large hull ships in several weeks to fight pirates. I believe it happens because there aren't sufficient resources to support your POP ... but it's only a guess. I just know POP size affects the outcome, but not how. Also I find that ECON SB's military modules cost too much to support when compared to 1 military SB with a fleet that defends the SB's...
