Ati drivers change win theme

Hi !

when i install Ati drivers for my 1950 x cross gfx card..and reboot..then the ati drivers changes my win theme to something that looks like xp style with blue frames around the windows..i keep changing it back to windows classic, but after each reboot its back on the xp looking style..annyoing and frustarting...when i remove the ati drivers and reboot..then windows classic stays evry reboot.

i tryed with old an dnew drivers..even the omega ones ...no luck

Open Windowblinds & select view my system information and post it here please.

I see no mention of WindowBlinds but since you put this in 'Stardock Support' and they don't make ATI drivers... are you running any Stardock windows changing application?

If it's WB 4.6 or below - there is no 'view my system info' as I recall.


A screen shot might help.

No i dont run anything

Ill try out that blindwriter..not sure what it is yet..but it sems like we are talking about an theme called luna that wants to be loadet on reboot..and its related to ati and blindwriter.

i had the same problem with the latest ATi drivers, not only did they disable windowblinds but they crashed my system bad, the latest drivers i can get to work are feb 2 2007, anything after that trashes my computer bad, i don't know if this is my system or the drivers themselves but i will be sticking with these ones from now on.

First i contacted ati..but they were in deny that ther drivers could change win theme style...it just had to be..but anyway i found this nice page..maybe ati and bill gates should have an look on that page aswell..just to make things working better in ze future

Look on number 187 line

I found an regfile that changed the command, that i believe came from an ati problem

atm it sems to work fine..i did few reboot and still classic theme as i like it.
