GalCiv2 Gold discount for existing owners

I got an email today from Stardock about a $10 discount coupon inside the Gold Edition of GC2 that existing owners of GC2 can use. Since it seems like this discount is in every box of the Gold Edition but only certain people can use it, I'd like to know hwo your ownership of original GalCiv2 is determined. Not for nefarious reasons, I just can't find my box, manual, or jewel case anymore

Because I would LOVE to get the Gold Edition for the same price as Dark Avatar, but I want to make sure first..

You must send a page of the original retail manual (front cover, I think) in with the rebate form and the other requirements.

I got the e-mail too... but US-only? No discount for Canadians???
