Invading with Zero-Force?

Tonight I had the opponent attack me with a ship with 0 troops twice. Worse, they actually killed off 50 of my troops (and I had higher soldiering!) and I of course killed, well, zero of theirs. It's made me wonder if the whole scheme might be off and perhaps sending many transports with a tiny force might actually be more effective than one would think.

No, always send as many troops as possible. Once you start researching planetary invsasion, go all the way. It's far superior to have 2000 or 3000 troop transports invading than to have 500 or 1000.

If zero troops killed 50, who cares? You should have picked those transports off to begin with!!!

Keep a fleet of competent ships around when you're going to war.
