mouse freezes

not sure if this is the right place to post this?? sorry in advance if it's not...i was just wondering and hoping if someone can help me please? my mouse just all of a sudden started freezing up on me it doesnt happen all the time just every now and then. i tried to update mouse driver but it tells me there are no updates at this time! here's some of the info....driver provider: microsoft....driver date:7/1/2001....driver version:5.1.2600.0 im hoping someone can tell me what should i do to fix this irritating problem! thank you so much
