You can download it and then archive the files for installation off of your hard drive if a problem ocours. or redownload it as often as you wish.

It's only like 5 bucks more and they'll mail you a hard copy as well.
I bought the game like 2 weeks ago through Stardock's store, and downloaded it.

The boxed version came a few days later.

NO, it's only available online. I think the gold edition is available in some stores but DA on its own isn't

The gold edition does contain Dark Avatar BTW, in case that wasn't clear. But you'll have to uninstall your old copy of Dreadlords. It will install both Dreadlords and Dark Avatar at the same time, you can't just install the XP over your old version.

Actually the Gold Edition should install over top of the original game just fine.

The Gold Edition at retail in North America (and available by direct order) includes both DL and DA, as well as a $10 mail-in-rebate for current owners of the retail version of GC2. We're working on getting it to retail in Europe as well.

Note that if you buy DA-only direct and request a disc by mail, you get only the disc, not a full retail box (as there isn't one for DA). You can get a full retail box by ordering GC2:Gold if you want one.

Another question can I buy the download only first then later on if I want the cd can
I send the shipping charges and get it mailed?

Yes, you can do that.

Note however that if you have a TGN subscription and buy the game with tokens, you cannot--this option is only available if you purchase with a normal payment type.

ok, my parents don't give me permission for online payment

and i saw something with that tokens on stardock central,
registring my GC II game i bought in a store didn't gave me eny token, so how do you get them?

so how do you get them?

You get tokens by purchasing a TotalGaming.Net subscription, and can buy booster packs for more tokens after the initial purchase. Buying via tokens is cheaper than buying normally; a token costs roughly $6.50 to $7.00, but is worth $9-10 towards most games on TGN. However you still need to be able to purchase the tokens to begin with.

If your parents do not allow you to purchase items online, then your best bet is to simply get GC2 Gold at retail.

I've purchased the Gold Edition. I've had no problems installing the game and it rocks. My only issue has been with registering the product with Stardock so that I can enter games on the Metaverse. The serial # for my original version of Dread Lords is listed on the SD website, but when I try to enter the serial # off the Gold Edition it is not accepted in either Stardock Central or at the Stardock website. Do I need to "de-register" my first version of DL so that I can use the serial # off the Gold Edition? Just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue and how it can be remedied? Apologies if this is something simple I'm missing.

You should be able to simply erase it and enter your new serial in SDC's registration dialog (and register the Gold serial as DA as well). Of course if you already have DL registered, all that matters is that you get DA registered--a Gold serial won't get you anything extra for DL.
