VD's don't followd when alt tabbing to applications

I got a new machine and I'm moving my oD to the new machine.

I would like to have it behave the same way as it used to.

On my old machine everything works as described below.

So what I want:

I don't want my taskbar filtered (I have to use mode-2)

I want to to be able to alt-tab to any app I have running and VD to
"follow" to that desktop. This is currently not working. Ie I select
the app with alt-tab, release and tsap, the app is "highlighted" in
the taskbar, but I'm still on the same desktop.

Also it seems popups and other stuff are staying behind main windows
and I have no way to get to them except retrieve all windows.

For example opening SD central and answering yes to upgrade SD
central, go to another desktop, the message "you need to restart sd
central do you want to restart now? Yes - No popups somewhere.

But I can't access the popup, and I can't press any of the buttons
with keyboard because there's none selected by default.

I can "see" the popup because I have previews enabled on my
taskswitchXP (note everything is broken with or without it loaded)

I think thee was more choices with VD configuration window before, for
example how task switching follows or retrieves teh applications
between desktops.

Also how come my new laptop is broken with this regard with the exact
same settings as my old machine that worked perfectly?

I'm happy to modify a settings file or something to configure the
follw/retrieve behavious or applications, but I can't find such a
file, not sure it exists even.
