Is trading techs always a problem for poor old Yor.......?

This is the first time that I have tried to play as the Yor and, as I have always played as the Terran alliance before, I am struggeling to build and maintain relationships, particularily regarding trading techs.

Is it more to do with the fact that playing as the TA they had an advantage when it came to trading techs that the poor old Yor can't ever come close to....?

Even other races that can be friendly or warm to me really don't want to do a deal. I have even stacked every single technology to trade against one of their lower grade techs to find that is often refused, which doesn't make sense, to me anyway. Not that I would allow the deal to go through I am still a little amazed at what they will refuse, whether they like me or not...!!!

That would certainly be the case, the Terrans get huge diplomatic bonuses. However you might just be noticing the new tech trading system. It's much, much harder now with the 1.5X patch. A little too hard IMO. It seems to have gone from one extreme to the other.

mmm I hadn't thought of the possiblity that the latest patch might be a factor, as I mentioned I hadn't played Yor before so I assumed that it might just be because of their general lack of diplomacy and influence.

Even though I have increased my diplomatic skills, to where I have an incredible advantage over the race that I'm trying to trade with, I find that almost every offer, no matter how heavily biased it is in their favour, is rejected.

FWIW I am only playing at the 'tough' level of difficulty.

For those that have, previous to the latest patch, played as Yor I wonder what their thoughts are now...?

That doesn't happen to just the Yor now. I play a custom race with no diplomatic bonuses except what I gain from anomalies, and I was having a tough time making any trades as well. If I did manage to get them interested, it usually meant giving them three of my techs for one of theirs. In other words, the same way that I used to get techs from them before the patch. Like I said, they've gone from one extreme to the other. I tried trading Barren Worlds Colonization for Galactic Warfare once to see what would happen and they refused the deal.
