Stardock Virtual Desktop frustration - PLEASE HELP!

hello again
i need some help, i cant seem to make icons keep to their respective desktop, for example the half-life 2 icon should be in games but shows up in all desktops, i have tried locking it to the games desktop but still appeas in all desktops, when i select the exe in the configure desktop panel it shows up as half-life2.ink for some reason and not an exe, is this because its a shortcut on the desktop?
