Galciv II DL will not load

Hi everyone, first off my system specs are:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
2gb RAM
256MB ATI Sapphire Radeon X850XT Platinum Edition (latest drivers installed)

The only debug.err file I could find said:
Debug Message: Version v1.5 last updated on: Thu Jan 11 13:39:19 2007

Basically, whenever I click Play the Game nothing happens. My computer doesn't make a sound or anything. The strange thing is that I purchased Dark Avatar today and that works fine - its just the original game that won't load. I have spent the past 30 minutes searching the forums but I couldn't find any solutions - does anyone have any ideas?

Did you install from Gold Edition discs, or by SDC (If by SDC or if you updated post-install via SDC, it could be an activation issue)?

First I installed from my Galciv2 DL discs (retail no patches) and that worked fine. it was only after I installed the 1.5 patch and DA that it wouldn't let me load it up.

Did you patch it to 1.5 from a DA disc or by SDC though?
I patched it via SDC. Also, I had to request a new sig.bin file via email (to play DA) and I put this in my normal Galciv 2 folder - could this be the problem? Was I meant to put that sig.bin file in the DA folder?

Yes, that's likely the problem right there. GC2 and DA use different sig.bins, which need to be in the appropriate folders.

I've uninstalled everything and deleted all the folders and reinstalled DA and DL off SDC and they both seem to work. I think the problem (whatever it was) may have been solved. Thanks very much for the swift replies kryo!
