Custom Toolbar Name Not Displaying Properly

Dear WindowBlinds Community:

I tried to find the answer to my problem but not having much luck so apologies if this is a repeat but I would like to run something by you:

I have purchased Object Desktop and mostly enjoying it but have run into one small UI issue. I hope I can explain this using the right words. In Windows XP Media Edition 2005, I had created a custom Toolbar linked to a folder. I keep 4 or 5 Internet shortcuts in there that I visit frequently (I'm sure there are better ways of managing Internet links but I am used to this way).

Anyway, I take this custom toolbar and dock it to my task bar by first unlocking the taskbar, then docking this toolbar into the task bar, then I resize/shrink this toolbar (now docked) so it become very small leaving only the name of the toolbar ('Links') and a symbol which looks like this '>>'. Finally I lock the toolbar.

Okay, everything is fine, but the UI issue I have is that most of the WB Skins that I apply ends up cutting off the top part of the word 'Links' in the toolbar. Now some skins it is just fine but other (most) this cutting off issue happens. Anything I can do to make the word appear nicely down there in my taskbar? I am new to the community and world of ObjectDesktop so anything further you need please let me know.

Thank you in advance for any assistance. Otherwise very much enjoying this product so far outside of one other anomoly using IconX but I'll post that question in that board.

I do understand what you are talking about. when I do have my *Windows taskbar showing I always select the desktop toolbar which shows as you describe the word desktop & the >> and some Windowblinds do cut the top or even at times the bottom part of the word *desktop off. and I keep my taskbar single height. I believe that it is solely an issue with the Windowblinds program, not the other programs included in Object Desktop. Since I use ObjectDock Plus I now have the taskbar hidden so it has been some time since it was an issue. Unfortunately I do not know how to fix that issue but hopefully someone will.
On that note, you can easily add a list view of favorite links repersented as an icon of your choosing on a dock with ObjectDock Plus, thus hiding the Windows taskbar forever. You can also set up a dock or 2 depending on your choice to always show running tasks & the system tray icons. Now that I use this program I will never use the Windows taskbar again

oops I was at the wrong end of the monitor, huh?

the taskbars are set by the windowblinds - you can adjust the setting in SkinStudio but it takes a lot of practice

Thank you both for your replies. I'm glad I was able to describe my problem to the point where at least now I know it is a issue (albeit a very small one). Between the two suggestions, I am too much of a novice to mess with SkinStudio so I downloaded the ObjectDock program, currently using the Free version and seems to address my need perfectly (giving me ability to setup a area (dock) where 4 or 5 internet links are always accessible). That suggestion was great and now I learned of another awesome program by Stardock.

I cannot even tell you what a pleasant experience it has been been part of the Stardock family/community.

Thank you again. My problem has been resolved.

Each time you change a skin you need to unlock your taskbar and adjust those "widths" for toolbars then re-lock the taskbar. It has to do with each blind using different fonts/graphics and there's no correct position for ALL windowblinds.

Amar happy to have helped & we are glad to Welcome you as a member of our community

Ahh finally after all these years such a simple solution And all I ever needed to do was ask I didn't consider it a big issue & simply attributed it to the extreme variations of the Windowblinds I used. Thanks Lantec

Thank you. It works. Those skins which previously cutoff the word now do not do so. Totally great.

Yet, I'm not getting rid of that of the Object Dock anytime soon. It has already become a habit!!!

Thank you everyone again.
